Engagement Officer

Purpose:The Engagement Officer is responsible for providing administrative support and facilitating relationships with the State Commissioner Team and the CEO to help deliver effective services to the members. This is a new role that will provide critical support as part of a broader change management process within Girl Guides Queensland.


  • Demonstrated and relevant experience in people and human resource management
  • Demonstrated capacity to maintain confidentiality and professional standards of behaviour in difficult and sensitive circumstances
  • Highly developed communication skills, evident in writing, public speaking and in face-to-face and telephone interaction
  • Demonstrated capability to effectively build and maintain collaborative relationships
  • Self-confident, assertive, resilient and flexible
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills
  • Understanding and competence in working with a database
  • Have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Grants Officer

Purpose: Researches and promotes grant, funding and partnership opportunities within Girl Guides Queensland. They write proposals for funds supporting the operation of the organisation and may assist Regions and Districts in their grant applications.

Volunteer Positions

International Advisor

Girl Guides Queensland is seeking two applicants for the International Adviser Role.

The role will be broken up into two components:

  1. Screening and interviewing applicants for international events
  2. Circulating World Guiding knowledge to Members and incorporating World Guiding elements into youth programs

The International Adviser provides support, guidance and participation within the international sphere and will predominately work with young adult members.

They will enthusiastically promote international initiatives and events, such as JOTA- JOTI.

Graphic Designer

This role will join the Marketing and Communications Department and will work directly with the Communications Manager. The tasks will include design of newsletters, marketing collateral, activities, edits to AI files, banners, posters, designs of badges and any other adhoc graphic design projects. Would be perfect for anyone looking to expand their design portfolio.

We are seeking several photographers to help capture the essence of Guiding. This will include event photography, staged and structured photo shoots, portrait photos, and photography for marketing collateral. Ideal for someone looking for more practice, or a freelancer building their portfolio.
